PRS NF3 Wins MIPA for Best Electric Guitar 2010/2011

PRS Guitars is proud to announce that the new NF3 model has received the Musikmesse International Press Award (mipa) in the “Best Electric Guitar” category for 2010/2011. Press from all over the world voted for this year’s most revered musical gear, and winners were announced at the Musikmesse/Prolight + Sound trade show in Frankfurt, Germany on April 7, 2011.

15 Bands Get Down with PRS Acoustics at SXSW 2011

What do you get when you invite 15 great bands showcasing at SXSW to record acoustic numbers in a wine cellar decked with recording equipment, a former XM radio DJ, and two PRS acoustic guitars? You get internet radio’s newbie, New Normal Music, and their upcoming series “The ABC’s of SXSW on NNM.” Airing March 28 through April 1 on www.newnormalmusic.com, this uniquely indie acoustic program will feature wine-cellar recordings of fresh-faced artists performing exclusively with Paul Reed Smith acoustic guitars direct from SXSW 2011. “The ABC's of SXSW on NNM” will play back these acoustic sessions in alphabetical order and will be hosted by NNM DJ’s Art and Tobi.

New Custom Amp Designs from PRS Guitars and Doug Sewell

PRS Guitars is happy to announce the launch of its custom amp program at this years Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Lead by former Texas-based architect turned amplifier builder Doug Sewell, the program allows customers to work intimately with their dealer and the PRS amp team to create the most personalized amps ever offered by PRS. Amplifiers can be built with specialized colors, speakers and components and can even bring discontinued models back to life.

Dweezil Zappa Clinic at Musician's Institute

More than 400 students from Musicians Institute attended an exclusive clinic with Dweezil Zappa and Paul Smith in Hollywood on February 10. Zappa demonstrated complex riffing techniques using his mandolin style signature model alongside co-guitarist and Musicians Institute instructor Jamie Kime. Students eagerly asked questions and watched intensely as Dweezil and Jamie broke down some of Frank Zappa’s most complicated and prolific arrangements.

PRS Guitars Presents Trophy to 2011 GRAND-AM Road Racing Winner At Daytona

PRS kicked off its 2011 partnership with GRAND-AM Road Racing at the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona last weekend. At the end of the historic endurance event, the overall win went to the Ganassi team of Pruett, Rojas, Rahal and Hand. Pruett and Rojas took the 2010 championship and are no strangers to PRS guitars as they have scored a total of nine trophy guitars for the Chip Ganassi team.

PRS’s New 2 Channel 50-Watt Amps

2 Channel “C” and 2 Channel “H”

Handmade in Stevensville, Maryland, PRS’s new 2 Channel “C” and 2 Channel “H” 50 watt amps feature two channels with independent master volume, treble, mid, bass, and gain controls with global reverb. The unique lead channel offers powerful, smooth distortion with liquid sustain, while the clean channel has shimmering, clean highs and extensive headroom but can be overdriven at maximum settings. Both amps feature effects loops with adjustable send and return and are fixed bias.
